OUTFIT DU JOUR [un jour en novembre :)]

So we’re still in November guys! As you have already noticed, Veronika and me love playing with leaves + Vienna is still in the midst of a strangely long fall, which didn’t keep us from visiting tons of different advent markets, where wintery feeling was coming up :)

Concerning my outfit: I love white jackets and as you have noticed I’m a big fan of collar shirts, I prefer them over T-shirts. And speaking of the Converse: Oh when CAN’T you wear them?

MOVIE REVIEW: "In Time"

Just my luck I watched this movie, together with Veronika, even with everyone trying to convince me not to go see it. First of all, I was stunned when seeing the trailer by the unusual topic and the great looking sets and cinematography. Plus, there were some mentionable names acting in this futuristic movie that tore me into the cinema.

I’m dividing the movie into two halfs. The first half was just fascinating, reminding me very much of one of my favorite movies Inception. The story about a guy in the future world being given tons of money (in this case money is TIME), now being able to see the rich parts of the United States where people having more money/time live, is definitely something new and intriguing. The thrilling plot keeps you glued to the scene throughout this first half.

However, unfortunately at one point the movie suddenly becomes, excuse my words, a bit ridiculous and its credibility level decreases and decreases and decreases while its logical mistakes increase!

The whole race against time topic, plus the creative ideas for the plot, plus some nice performances by all the actors involved, kept me entertained for all the 2 hours running time, so I’m gonna forgive the futuristic, actually well-made movie all its mistake. However, for 4 stars, it’s just not enough, so…

PHOTO POST: merry christmas from Vienna

I wish each and every one of you a happy and merry Christmas!!!

Both Felix and I are celebrating Christmas today, on the 24th of December, with big family dinners in the evening! So I hope you're all going to have a wonderful celebration as well!! :)

Here are some photos taken just a few days ago - Vienna around Christmas really looks like some kind of Winter Wonderland - lights and decorations everywhere! My favourite thing to do in winter is visiting all the different christmas markets around the city and on the photos you can see two of them: the Freyung and the Rathaus (meaning city hall in English) "Christkindl"-markets (- that's the way they are called in German).

you can get the tastiest sweet things here - if you ever plan on visiting Vienna during the Christmas season - get yourself a "Baumkuchen" at one of the markets- it's my favourite!!

BOOK REVIEW: "1Q84" Part 3 - Haruki Murakami

This book leaves you off wanting more. It's special. Just as so many of Haruki Murakami's books, this one envelops you in an extraordinary atmosphere, where you feel so close to the characters. It's a touching, but at the same time an exciting story. Once you start reading it, you simply don't want to put it down. Even though my edition probably weighed about a ton (because it included all of the 3 published parts), I still carried it around everywhere until I finished it.

To me it's hard describing Haruki Murakami's books, probably because they are somehow so different. Even though the third part of "1Q84" slightly differs from the author's well known and loved style, the story described is one of the most interesting ones I have read by the author so far. For readers wanting to get to know Murakami for the first time, I would recommend some other book (such as "South of the Border" or "Kafka on the Shore") to truly get to know his signature style.

Even though the ending leaves you off craving for more of the characters and the story, it is still a satisfying finish. That's what I missed with the first and the second parts, you actually felt frustrated that you couldn't read once when you finished each one. Waiting for the third part was pure torture! And just to mention one last thing - I have never been a part of a certain type of hype, when I felt compelled to buy a hardcover version of a book that has just come out. Well, this time it was different. This is the first book that I actually preordered through Amazon and it was worth every single cent!
